Write about the adaptations of xerophyte.

Xerophytes adapted to survive in dry habitats, such as deserts and mountain ranges. Some xerophytes have well-developed roots that grow deep into the ground and reach water sources below the surface. Roots store water in succulent water-storing parenchyma tissues, so these plants can quickly become hydrated when necessary. Xerophytes also have small, waxy leaves that minimize water loss through transpiration. In some xerophytes, leaves are modified into spines that help protect the plant from predators and damage caused by strong winds and sandstorms. Some xerophytes complete their life cycle within a very short period, depending on the moisture availability.
